Product Description

Until the end of May, all NEC monitors come with SpectraView 2 (Normally $159) and FREE shipping throughout Australia. Grab a bargain today!

The P221W is the first of the widescreen models in the NEC Multisync series range.  This model is wide gamut like the 26 and 30s (the 24 is standard gamut).  Very competitively priced, these are very popular as they are big enough for professional work but won't break the bank.

Each NEC monitor comes with an inbuilt carbon savings meter as well as the energy efficient ECOMode, that reduces power consumption while in use.

For best results we *strongly recommend* you also get theĀ SpectraView II Direct Hardware Calibration System and a compatible monitor calibrator. We also offer a range of hood and cabling options that can be found within the Related Products tab above.

As with all the NEC Colour Critical Range, you get:

  • Extensive calibration controls - so that you can adjust your monitor for highly accurate image display using traditional software calibration
  • If you buy SpectraView II you can direct hardware calibrate this monitor
  • Either way you of course need a matching monitor calibrator to do this properly
  • High bit depth gamma and colour adjustments - this makes for smooth gradients and accurate calibration
  • Fantastic quality panel and surrounding electronics
  • Excellent design - an ultra thin bezel, and easy to use, sensibly laid out controls with an excellent on screen display system
  • Height adjustable stand
  • Pivot function - rotate your screen 90 degrees for portrait work
  • Cable management built into the stand - keep your office looking slick and tidy
  • Wide viewing angles - so you can show your work to clients and friends and be sure it is looking great
  • Black Bezel - We only supply black bezel screens as other colours (if available) reflect their colour into the display and reduce colour accurate performance
  • Uniformity Corrected (Most models, please check the specifications tab for your model)

You are welcome to come in for an NEC demo (be prepared to be blown away by the quality!)

Product Reviews

  1. Excellently neutral and simple setup.

Posted by Dan on 20th Mar 2010

PROS: Black level adjustment, hardware calibration, edge to edge neutrality, warranty, thin bezel, minimal footprint.

CONS: Off-angle black detail (is better than on-angle), stand lacks rigidity, limited connectivity.

Bought for professional photo editing, this monitor so far has proven to be a great choice.
In monitor terms this is not the 'bees knees' but for price point it is fabulous. Out of the box it is neutral and neutral from edge to edge. Brightness uniformity is not perfect but very good. Setup was extremely simple and it calibrated seamlessly. Only real downside is the inherent nature of PVA panels, blacks are compressed slightly at the normal viewing angle. This has been mostly alleviated using the in-built black level adjustment feature.
