Museo have told us this is 'within their tolerances' and they will not be accepting returns for anyone who does not appreciate this marked change in appearance. Note the paper is still very good, it's just smoother and glossier than it was. Please be aware before ordering that we can not be sure if you will be getting the 'old' or the 'new' Silver Rag and thus this paper is not currently suitable for edition runs because of this inconsistency in supply. Because of Museo's stance on this matter, we also can not accept returns of Silver Rag due to this issue. We recommend that if you a need more consistent paper you consider Canson Infinity Platine (we are replacing all Silver Rag in our own printing with this) or Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl (the most similar paper to Silver Rag).
(Often referred to as Crane Silver Rag)
An amazing option for inkjet printing! Looks uncannily like Agfa classic fiber based black and white, while colour prints have the rich feel of dye-transfer prints. The was the first semi-gloss, 100% cotton fibre based archival inkjet paper to accept the Photo Black ink and thus offers d-max unlike any other archival paper. This papers remains our personal favourite semi gloss fibre based paper at time of writing (2010) - incredible shadow detail and rich warm tones - it's a cracker! Very robust surface as well, much better than all the new baryta papers in high traffic situations.
