An A3+ photographic printer designed from the ground up to meet the increasingly sophisticated requirements of professional photographers. Featuring Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta, an eight colour ink system, the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 delivers outstanding photo print results in colour and black–and–white.
The 2880 is to our mind an odd model in the Epson range - it is hard to make the argument for a 2880 when the Epson 3800 is only a bit more in price and is overall a much more capable and higher grade printer, with much lower running costs as well (the 3880 is an Epson ProGraphics machine, while the 2880 is part of the standard consumer range). That said, the 2880 DOES have a roll feeder for 13 inch rolls, and the 3800 doesn't offer roll facilities. But the 3880 can do A2 sheets (indeed sheets as large as 17 by 38 inches!), so if you can live without roll feed, the 3800 is the better buy as it is better built, has a better warranty, and is more economical to run.
Most of our clients find the best solution for their colour problems is a good printer, a monitor calibrator, combined with two custom icc printer profiles for their favourite papers (usually a gloss and a pearl, or a gloss and a fine art matte). So we've created a package including:
N.B We ask that you use your custom profiles within three months of your purchase. Just bring or send your target prints along when you're ready, and remember to let us know your invoice number so we can find your order in our database!

I sold my Epson large format printer and 'traded down' to this printer for my daily printing requirements. I outsource larger prints to an excellent printer service (they can have the clogging headaches). The R2880 is a wonderful printer. The quality is superb, colours rich and it has been 100% reliable. It fits neatly on my workspace. This printer has proved that giclee needn't be a struggle. I chose it over the 3800 for the roll paper option. I just love it.
