Featuring the new UltraChrome Hi–Gloss2 resin coated pigment ink set, Epson's industry leading photograph printing technologies, and support for cut sheet and roll paper, the A3+ Epson Stylus Photo R1900 marks a new standard of excellence in professional photographic printing.
The R1900 is the printer to choose if you want pigment inks but still want excellent performance on gloss media - a traditional failing point for pigment inks. The R1900 uses a special 'gloss optimiser' ink that is sprayed over the print to create a rich, robust gloss print without any gloss differential. It's very effective so if gloss is your thing, this is the printer to go for. This printer has both blacks (matte black for matte papers, photo black for semi-gloss and gloss papers) loaded at the same time and there's no changeover process at all - no ink wastage, no time lost. You can instantly switch between all the different media types and get great colour results on them all.
This printer does NOT however feature multiple grey (light black) inks and is thus capable only of typical results for black and white prints - if black and white is important to you, then look to the Epson 3880 or 2880 instead.
Most of our clients find the best solution for their colour problems is a good printer, a monitor calibrator, combined with two custom icc printer profiles for their favourite papers (usually a gloss and a pearl, or a gloss and a fine art matte). So we've created a package including:
N.B We ask that you use your custom profiles within three months of your purchase. Just bring or send your target prints along when you're ready, and remember to let us know your invoice number so we can find your order in our database!
