Here at Image Science we have a variety of different retouching services available - from simple print-ready retouching through to more complicated grading, head swapping, montage, and exotic types of retouching.

With all retouching work, a short consultation with one of the team is essential so we can view the work, discuss what is to be completed, and provide a quote on the exact amount of time required to complete the retouching.

Basic Print Set-up Service

If you don’t have time, the equipment or the knowledge, leave it to us! We are able to set up your files for print at the size you require them at only $5 per image.

Print Ready Retouching for Film Scans

Once you have had your film scanned through our scanning service (more info on this here), we are able to create print ready files for you.

This service includes:

• cropping/rotation as required
• complete dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom
• setting of final black and white points
• basic colour balancing such as warming or cooling

Print Ready Retouching for Art Reproduction/Flatbed Scans

Once you have had your artwork scanned through our Direct Scanning service (more info on this here), we are able to create print ready files for you. In this service we are also able to remove the background paper/texture/colour from the original artwork as per example below.

This service includes:

• cropping/rotation as required
• complete dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom
• setting of final black and white points
• basic colour balancing such as warming or cooling
• removal of background details

Photo Restoration

If you have an old image that you like reproduced, we are able to bring it back to its original (or close to original) condition. After the photograph has been scanned we give it an overall surface clean whilst still retaining its historical characteristics.

This service includes:

• colour balancing
• dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom
• basic cosmetic retouching as required – torn edges, missing emulsion etc

Advanced Retouching

Advanced retouching is for any piece that require a lot of cosmetic retouching and repair. We are able to work to your specifications to restore or construct the final image.

This service includes:

• Head swapping
• Extracting and Montaging
• Digital Grading
• Any other retouching required
