Custom Card Printing

 

Using the beautiful Museo Artist Cards, we are now offering a custom card printing service. 

For the price of pre-printed cards in a newsagent you can now get stunning, fine art quality custom printed cards with matching envelopes, printed to your specifications - all at the superb quality Image Science is known for.

How it works in a nutshell (see below for detailed instructions)

  1. Choose the card size you want - Small, Large, Square or Panoramic.
  2. Download the template files and layout your cards in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
    (With full colour content on one or even both sides!)
  3. Choose how many prints you want (available in multiples of 10 or 50 per design only).
  4. Send us your files and payment
  5. We will return your custom printed cards and matching envelopes in a few days!

About The Cards We Use

We use Museo Artist Cards - these cards are made from 100% cotton rag paper, are 220gsm and come with matching envelopes.   The surface is a smooth, slightly warm, cotton rich art paper surface.  They are laser scored for a perfect, no wrinkle fold.  The final result is a perfect fine art card that looks more beautiful and professional than off the shelf cards!

They are quite simply stuning!   The owners of Image Science, Jeremy and Amy, used them for both their wedding invitations and for the birth announcement of the daughter Leyna and received scores of compliments about them.

Turnaround

Typically less than one week from delivery of files (often just a day or two but it depends on how busy we are and stock availability).


Detailed Instructions

  1. Download the templates you need by clicking on Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. The linked files contain templates for all 4 sizes and are zipped together, so you will need to unzip them. They are in .PSD format, which many other imaging applications can also open. If in doubt, use the Photoshop template files.

    Included is a sample of a small card prepared for double sided printing - please make sure you follow this example!

  2. Lay your cards out as you see fit - with the following guidelines:

    - Stay at least 0.5 cm from all of the edges, we can not print right to the edge ('full bleed')
    (Tip: if you want a full bleed effect, you can use a guillotine to trim the border area off the cards once you get them back)

    - The fold will be right in the middle of the template (running vertically). We suggest you stay at least 0.5cm away from the fold as well

    - You can lay your cards out so that they open in landscape or portrait format - just be mindful of the fold location (see sample in the download!).

    - When finished, flatten all layers before supplying the files to us

  3. Save the cards in .PSD, .TIF, or .JPG format - clearly labeled with INSIDE and OUTSIDE if you are having both sides printed.

  4. Write clear instructions in an email/text document you include with your files. Include full contact details.

  5. Send/bring the files to Image Science along with your payment (add $15 for return postage if required). There are notes on how to send us your files. Payment details are here.

  6. Once complete, we will send your beautiful custom printed cards back to you (or notify you when the job is ready for pick up).
