You may recall that we mentioned in a news item in mid-December, 2011 about upcoming changes to the Adobe range of imaging software. Well, we have now received further information regarding upcoming changes, dates and what those with older software versions should do.
Well, it would seem that due to overwhelming complaints from industry experts and customers, Adobe have decided to revert some changes, at least until the end of 2012. You can find official Adobe upgrade eligibilty, pricing and purchasing option information on the Adobe website. Under the heading, "What is the Adobe upgrade pricing policy?" you will find the following:
So, those on CS3 and CS4 will still have the opportunity to upgrade to CS6 or to the Adobe Creative Cloud (which will include all of the CS6 products, creative services, Touch Apps, and more) upon its release in the second half of 2012. Be aware that these upgrades are only available for these versions until December 21st, 2012. Those on CS5 and CS5.5 will be able to do the same, and hopefully at a lower cost to do so. And those who remain on CS2 or earlier will not be eligible for upgrade pricing for CS6 but will be able to move to a Creative Cloud membership. For CS2 users, they can take advantage of the current Creative Suite Migration promotion that is valid till March 15, 2012 to upgrade to the latest CS version.
