This page is all about specials, clearance items, and cheap stuff and it will generally be updated much more frequently than most other pages. This means you may get a higher than average number of emails if you subscribe to this page. But it is the absolute first place we list all these things (before even the newsletter) - things that don't really fit in to our day to day sales, and generally things that move quickly, and don't make it into our main shopping cart system. So subscribing to this page is the best way to pick up a bargain as often items listed here are sold at very deep discounts.

All NEC Models

We have just had notification (as in 5pm Friday afternoon!!) that there are a limited number of NEC ex-demo LCD monitor stock available for purchase. We are still waiting on exact details to come through (regarding use and history) but hope to have this information for you all first thing Monday morning (26/03/2012). However, should you be interested in any of these monitors, and want to be first in line to take up these offers, please contact Kylie immediately with your name, contact details and what model you are interested in and she will get back to you as soon as we have confirmed information. Please note that we will do all we can to get the information and status of each monitor as quickly as we can, but that this may take longer than Monday itself depending on how quickly things turn around etc.

Sam Stewart from MiddleGrey Studio bought a SpectraView 2690 (this is the exotic hand certified model and was just shy of $4000 new at time of purchase).

The monitor is in excellent condition with hood, cables, Spectraview Profiler software and certification information (September 2009, Average DE 1.11, Peak DE 2.87) - meaning this is a *very* accurate monitor.

• Ilford Classic Gloss - this is Ilford's swellable coating classic gloss paper - it's actually a nicer paper than the smooth gloss paper, but it is not compatible with pigment inks, so only pick this up if you have a dye based printer. If you Do have a dye based printer, this is one of the nicest and by far most archival gloss paper options ever made for your printer - lifespans triple that of normal inkjet papers. • 1 * Canson Infinity Museum Canvas - just clearing come excess 24" roll stock at bargain prices - has a swellable coating which makes them slower to dry off the printer but very tough once dry.
  
  
• 1 * Ilford Smooth Gloss - 24" roll - This is the older version before the packaging change, (2010) - $135 - apart from being older stock this is perfect and half the price of a normal roll. Is the 2010 version of ISG.
  
  
• 2 * Ilford Smooth Gloss - 6" by 4" roll - so actually 4" by 26 feet - $40/each - again, perfect for any roll printer to make a whole stream of easy 6" by 4" prints. Is the 2010 version of ISG.

This page lists the currently available specials, ex-demo, refurbished and second hand equipment available at Image Science. In general this equipment can be a real bargain and the minor faults (if any, they will be noted) are usually well worth living with for the steep discount you get.

Please don't ring us to ask 'how big of a problem is a dead pixel?' - our opinion is right here - it is a very minor issue when one pixel out of twenty million plus is not fully working (indeed usually it is a sub pixel - one third of one pixel - so one party in 60 million plus parts!) - but only YOU can decide whether it will really bother you in the long term. If you think it might, it probably will, so buy a new screen with a dead pixel warranty instead.

• All the information we have and can get is in the listings above - sorry but we can not get further information about these items (such as dead pixel locations).
• Subscribe to this page using the link to your right - this is the quickest way to be notified about new listings.

• Order by ringing (03) 9329 4522 NOW - competition for these is usually fierce!
• All ex-demo equipment requires up front payment to secure your order - generally we have a LOT of people waiting for these so we don't want any hassles in chasing payments etc. You don't necessarily have to pick your item up immediately, but we have to pay for these up front to NEC and Eizo etc., so you have to as well.
• No change-of-minds or returns accepted (unless the description we have supplied was somehow inaccurate). All sales are final.
• No 'Rainchecks' and Errors and Omissions Excepted - we do our very best to make sure our information is as accurate and as detailed as possible. If we (or our upstream suppliers) make an error in these listings, we're sorry for the hassle but we can not be held to supplying another unit instead of the listed unit at the same price or whatever - this is all offered in good faith and we do our best based on the info we have at the time!
  

Definitions:

• Ex-Demo and Refurbished are terms used somewhat interchangeably by our upstream suppliers, so one listed as 'Ex-Demo' may actually be a refurb and vice versa.
• Ex-Demo means the stock has been used for demonstration purposes at a store and/or trade fair (not necessarily Image Science - if it is one of our demo models we will mention this in the listing). These units will have had light use (e.g. well less than 1000 hours for monitors in general).
• Refurbished means the monitor was returned for warranty repair as a 'DOA' item. Usually the fault was very minor and has been fully repaired so the unit is in an as new state. If the fault can not be repaired (e.g. dead pixel) then it will be noted in the listing.
• Second hand means a used item - we may be simply directing enquiries to one of our customers who is upgrading, or we may be selling our own used equipment, or we may be selling on consignment.
  

Warranties & Accessory notes:

• Warranties (only offered on Ex-Demo and Refurbished units - not second hand items) are as stated in the listing but some general points:
  • Ex-Demo monitors do not usually come with dead pixel coverage (generally any dead pixels are noted)
  • Eizo monitors listed here come with 3 year warranties rather than the normal 5 years unless as noted in the listing.
  • Warranties obviously do not cover any noted faults but are other than that are as per the normal warranties, including the length of the normal warranty, unless otherwise noted or stated.
    
    
• Minor accessories may be missing - Accessories of a basic and easily replaceable nature such as power cords (almost always standard kettle cords) and video cables MAY be missing, even when not noted in our listing. This is already factored into the discounted price and it is up to you to replace these items at your expense and effort. Generally we try and get information on this and note it in the listing - but since we're often not packing these items this is out of our control. Any major accessories (such as monitor hoods, software that is not easily downloadable from the web etc.) - are of course included - should any be missing please let us know and we will sort this out for you.
