How to supply us with film for scanning
Please do not supply us with uncut rolls of film! We will have to charge you a film cutting fee.
- PLEASE DO NOT send us full rolls of film
- PLEASE DO NOT send us all your film - just send us the film strips you want scanned
- PLEASE DO NOT send us your film rolled in containers - send it to us FLAT!
- PLEASE DO NOT send us your film between cardboard unless you want to be spotting for hours in Photoshop - use plastic sleeves.
- Be consistent and clear about about which images you want scanned
- Unfortunately, we can not offer custom file naming, directories etc. It simply takes too long. See FAQ.
For scanning on the Imacon Flextight 949 - we can only scan images on the edges of short strips - so make sure your strips are 4 or less images in length. Singles are OK too, however leave as much rebate as you can around the edges.
For scanning on the Nikon - all film must be mounted 35mm film.
Drop Off and Pick Up
You can arrange drop off and pick up of your order by making contact with us and arranging an appointment. We are not a retail store, so please do not arrive unannounced - it may be that no one is in the office, and there's no point wasting a trip over!

Packing Your Film
Pack your film well! To date, with thousands of orders, we have not had one single instance of damage or loss, so be assured you can safely send film through the mail.
The trick is Registered Post and good packaging. Most of our clients use stiff board (eg foamcore) to keep their film flat, wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a Postpak box. We ship orders back in the same packaging wherever possible (saves the world a little bit each time), or if not possible, then packed to the same or better standard as the order arrived.
Rush Orders
If you're in a terrible rush, you can jump the queue. There is a 20% price loading for this service. Your scan(s) will be scanneded immediately the scanner is next available, and typically you can pick your order up later the same day.
This allows you to essentially jump the queue with your urgent work (eg folio work), but you need to remember that everyone is in a hurry and we generally service jobs in the order we get them.
We will only agree to do this if:
- it doesn't put out any of our other clients
- it doesn't interfere with any other rush jobs booked in before yours
- it doesn't interfere with our outside of work lives!
