Scanning Details
Please see the FAQ for more in-depth discussion of the following notes. If you have any further questions, we'll be happy to help.
Our approach to scanning is always to give you the best possible file from which to produce the best possible print. If you have particular scanning requirements, we will be happy to accomodate you.
Details:
- Scans are not clipped in any way - the full dynamic range of the scanner is used
- Have no sharpening applied
- Are scanned into AdobeRGB 1998 (any other space available on request)
- Are cleaned here with pure compressed air before scanning - usually some final minor spot cleaning will be required
- Black and whites scanned as RGB positives unless requested otherwise - see FAQ for more details
- The resoluton figures listed below are true optical resolutions from a super sharp scanner, not inflated/interpolated resolutions that cheaper scanners (and some other scanning services!) offer
Pricing Details
All prices are listed below, and are inclusive of GST.
If you have a large job (over $400), please contact us to get a specific quote for your order - we offer discounts.
Film formats
We can scan all popular film formats on the Flextight 949.
A note on print sizes as listed below - the tables below contain approximate file sizes you can expect from our scans. All the figures for print sizes are for 300 PPI prints. These print sizes are very conservative - with a good, sharp original, you can make good prints larger than the sizes listed here (most labs used 200 or 250 PPI printers like the Lamda and Pegasus machines).
