October 2007 Update Message from Image Science

Image Science Very Quick October 2007 Update!

Just a few 'news bites' this time - it's the busiest month of the year for us, so I'll just get straight on to the most important news items.

Also, please note we'll be shut for a slightly extended 'Melbourne Cup' break from Friday November 2nd, re-opening Wednesday November 7th. And we won't even be watching the race!

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag - Finally back in stock!

Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag 308 is now back in stock in a big way - we just received a massive shipment of freshly manufactured stock. The legions of you waiting for sample packs, replacements, or other back orders should see them in the post shortly. We don't have any new 188 weight stock yet, though, so if you're waiting for some of that but would prefer the 308 weight instead, please let us know.

NB Please note this is the peak time of the year for folios and exhibitions - if you're planning on using Photo Rag any time soon, please don't delay in making your order.

This also means of course that we now have Photo Rag available for our 44" printing service. And of course for all the smaller sizes as well!

One warning though - It has come to our attention that we were the only dealers in Australia to return this *clearly faulty* stock - other dealers just sold it to their clients and hoped they would not notice. (We've been fielding calls from their disgruntled clients for weeks now). Because other dealers were and are willing to sell this paper - caveat emptor (buyer beware!) should you find some Photo Rag on the shelves elsewhere for quite some time to come!

New - Solux Lighting

We're now carrying the best bulbs in the world for colour management. The Solux bulbs are the closest lights you can get to the D50 lighting standard, with a smooth even spectral output that is very very close to the D50 standard. This is an inexpensive way of bringing much greater accuracy to your workflow, and to increase your print sales as your prints will look better than ever under these lights!

The bulbs fit standard halogen MR16 fittings and come in both 35 watt and 50 watt versions, so it is easy to rig up a booth or area for the display and assessment of prints.

We'll soon be carrying GTI print viewing booths as well, and we can order them already. These are a very slick (but more expensive) option perfect for studios and printing organisations.

Harman and Ilford Papers

We're in talks to supply the exciting new Harman Baryta papers and some papers from the Ilford range, more news should follow about this in the next newsletter, but if you're keen feel free to contact us and we'll add you to the list of interested people. We're hoping to have them available here within a week or two.

Black Hahnemuhle Digital Folios and Deckled Edge Rippers

Both of these products are now back in stock after substantial absences, and we know many of you have been waiting patiently. We're ready for your orders now!

Eye One Range now finally Windows Vista Friendly!

If you've had the courage to go for Windows Vista, you'll be pleased to know that the entire Eye One range is (finally) Vista compatible.

Download the latest version of Eye One Match software (3.6.2) here (takes you to xrite.com)

No Credit Card Surcharge

We've got rid of our credit card surcharge as it's such a popular way to pay - so Visa and Mastercard payments are now surcharge free. We still encourage you to use direct deposit, cash and EFTPOS first though as the banks have more than enough money as it is!

That's it!

Cheers, hope life is treating you very well indeed, and hope to see you soon,

Jeremy and Amy Daalder

Directors,
