The new Eizo SX range offer almost all of the features of Eizo's premium CG line of monitors at a considerably reduced price!
The key disadvantage over the CG line is that they do not offer direct hardware calibration but the reality is these screens are so good that there is very little compromise to the software calibration approach with these screens. The calibration process is more hands on and slower, but if you don't mind spending a few minutes a month on your calibration, then these monitors are an excellent choice. If the budget stretches, then do go for a CG screen - as these have premium hand picked panels, the very best warranty support and include a monitor hood in the price (worth $250). They also offer direct hardware calibration which is essentially automatic, fantastic quality and very fast - meaning you can spend less time on calibration and more on actually working on your images.
If the budget is tight, however, the SX line of monitors offer a superb quality to price ratio, and in practical use there will not be a huge difference in the quality and accuracy of display.
Other premium models with special features:
If you're looking for an IPS panel screen, then the venerable L997 is an excellent screen (and indeed is the screen we use here on our scanning workstation - and scanning remains a core part of our business).
Finally, if you're working in the area of digital video, the HD2441w offers fantastic video features and performance and makes an ideal screen for full hi definition video editing with superb colour accuracy.

This 24" widescreen monitor comes with an abundance of performance and colour control features making it ideal for digital image making.
The two key new features are wide gamut coverage (95% of Adobe RGB - meaning this monitor can display a greater range of colour than other monitors), and DUE - Dynamic Uniformity Enhancement (making the monitor extremely level across the entire 24" field).
