Stock ICC Profiles

Our Stock ICC profiles are free if you've bought your paper from us. Just send us an email to request a profile.

Stock profiles are intended to help you evaluate a paper and should give you results good enough to initially test a paper. We do recommend however that you get a custom ICC profile done for the main papers you use as this is definitely the path to the highest quality prints from your system.

Over the past five years, Image Science have developed an extensive library of ICC profiles for a huge variety of papers, printers, and even labs. We've decided to offer 'Stock Profiles' for some of the most popular printers - these profiles are not custom to your particular printer, but are an averaging of several samples taken from the same model of machine, with the same papers. They are offered at a reduced rate - the intention is to allow you to see the advantages of colour management without a significant outlay.

Please note, the unit to unit variance of Epson, HP and Canon printers (particularly the models up to the A3+ size) is quite significant. Measureable as DeltaE values ranging from 1 to about 7, there is no doubt these profiles are not nearly as accurate as custom profiles. Ink and paper consistencies are much, much higher than machine consistencies. Think of it like cars - two models of the same care tested on the same day will always drive differently, but the petrol going into them is produced to a very consistent standard.

The fee for each profile is $15, unless you bought your paper with us, in which case these profiles are free.To order a stock profile, just contact us.

Once payment is made we will email you the profile. If you later decide to go for a custom profile (for the same printer/paper combination), we will apply a $15 discount to your profile order (please remind us to do so when you submit your custom profile order!).

NB There is no guarantee with these profiles - they will work considerably better than no profile, but we make no promises. If you truly want hassle free colour, then a custom ICC profile for your printer really is the way to go.
