Conservation Folios and Albums
After you've spent hours capturing and printing the perfect image, there is one final critical step in the photographic process, and it's a key one - presentation.
Presentation can make or break your image in terms of the 'wow' factor. It can also make or break your image in terms of archival integrity. Not much point using the best, most archival materials available in the world today if you then store your images in something loaded with noxious, damaging chemicals.
We're now offering some beautiful, affordable, and fully archival Folios/Abums from two French fine art companies - Prat and Panodia. You can read more about the brands here.
We're carrying several types of folio products, but they can be split into two main categories:
- Folios with Mylar/Polypropelene archival plastic pockets
With these you just slide your images in and you're done - great for an ever changing portfolio and very simple!

(NB, with all of these the word 'sheets' means the number of physical pockets. For each sheet, you have two pages - that is, you can of course display an image on both sides of each sheet)
- Folios with built in inkjet printable pages (archival cotton rag papers)
We've been offering these for a while - they're a very simple, affordable, and classy option. Here, 'chicago screws' are used to hold the pages in place. The pages are removed from the folio, direct printed on with an inkjet printer, and then returned to the folio. The screws are hidden and the result is a very professional looking product that is very easy to use.

Prat Pampa Spiral Folios
The Prat Pampa Spiral Folios are quite stunning - genuine soft leather covers, with an attractive clasp to keep the folio shut while you're out and about, they are classy, simple to use and completely archival.
We use one of these to hold our sample prints for our printing service, and this folio still looks like new after many months of very frequent handling. Many people come to the office wanting to have prints made and walk our with prints AND a folio because they're irresistably attractive!
